Our team brings together people from a wide range of backgrounds, with and without refugee experience, and combines many years of experience in the fields of creative community building, social work, art curation/ education, activism and human rights. In all aspects, the team takes a participatory approach and at the same time sees the participants as actors who actively shape the process. This combination enables a holistic perspective that goes beyond one’s own professional context and personal experience and creates a natural connection to the communities.

Village: A Hub of Experience and Innovation

Although Village is a young organization, it serves as a dynamic hub of extensive experience accumulated by our board members, active colleagues, and partner organizations. Each brings a wealth of knowledge and resources, shaping our mission. Our most vivid experiences—rooted in our professional and personal journeys—form the foundation of Village e.V. These experiences, drawn from diverse fields, actively shape our initiatives today.

A Creative Community in Motion

Village thrives on a vibrant, ever-evolving creative ecosystem. Our work with youth, migrants, and communities is fueled by an interdisciplinary approach spanning the arts, architecture, and performativity. Over years of engagement, we have discovered the transformative power of creative spaces—safe environments where individuals can express their feelings, voice their needs, and cultivate a sense of belonging. This foundation is central to our mission.

A Network of Expertise and Collaboration

Our story is deeply interwoven with the communities of kitev, Labsa, and Grünbau. Gianna and Vite’s collaboration began with Project GENAU, while Fortune and Vite were already connected through Labsa, where Fortune was an ensemble member and social worker and Vite was involved in project management and curation.

We invite you to explore our expertise through a collection of projects we have initiated and led, showcasing our impact, innovative approaches, and commitment to meaningful change. Each of us brings a distinct expertise:

• Fortune Walitza-Ndam – a professional background and expertise in social and youth work
