We are continuously fundraising for vulnerable Afghan human rights activists who are excluded from relocation programs and state support – financially and politically. Please find below more details on our current campaign. Additionally, we support families in Cameroon, in the village Baïgom of our Board Member Fortune Ndam-Walitza, to help their children continue their education.
We are reaching out on behalf of a brave and inspiring women’s rights activist from a remote province in Afghanistan that currently lives together with her family in hiding under constant fear, receiving death threats and demands for the surrender of her children. This individual has dedicated over 16 years of their her life to empowering Afghan women through education, entrepreneurship, and advocacy. As the founder of a women’s business initiative, they created job opportunities for over 400 women, including full-time positions for 20 women and girls.
They also opened a restaurant to employ widows, providing them with dignity and a chance to educate their children.
However, their work has come at an unimaginable cost. Their tireless efforts for women’s empowerment have made them a target of oppressive forces. After the regime takeover, their business was seized, their restaurant destroyed, and their life—and the lives of their family—put at risk. They live in hiding under constant fear, receiving death threats and demands for the surrender of their children.
To help her escape this nightmare, this courageous individual and their family urgently need relocation to a safe haven in Europe, where they can rebuild their lives. The estimated cost for housing, health insurance, and living expenses for 18 months—enough time to integrate into society and find employment—is €35,000.
We, their international friends and supporters, are raising this amount to sponsor their relocation through a private sponsorship program. Your contribution, no matter the size, Every euro you contribute will directly support this family’s journey to safety and stability and make a significant impact.
